Wild Encounters: Meet our endemic wildlife species in our wildlife reserve of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Yesterday was a day of pure magic as Ranger Lead Travel Africa guided a fantastic group of explorers through the diverse landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park, home of big five. The African Big Five: lions (including famous tree-climbers in Ishasha), leopards, elephants, and buffaloes. While the Big Five traditionally includes rhinos, they are not currently found in QENP, but can be visited at the nearby Ziwa Rhino The wild was in a generous mood, offering us sightings that will stay with our guests forever.
The highlight of the morning was a magnificent pride of lions lounging under the shade of the acacia trees, watching the horizon with regal indifference. As we continued our drive, the vast plains revealed massive herds of Buffalo moving through the tall grass, their presence a testament to the raw power of the savannah.
“The water-side was just as lively. While navigating near the Kazinga Channel, we encountered pods of Hippos cooling off in the midday sun.”
While navigating near the Kazinga Channel, various species of Antelope—including the elegant Uganda Kob—danced across the landscape. It was a perfect snapshot of Africa’s rich biodiversity, shared with a wonderful group of travelers who truly appreciated the spirit of the wild.
