Booking Terms & Conditions: Ranger Lead Travel Africa

Effective Date: February 2026Please read these terms carefully. By confirming a booking with Ranger Lead Travel Africa, you agree to be bound by the following conditions regarding deposits, payments, and cancellations.

1. Booking & Deposits

To secure your safari, a deposit is required at the time of booking to initiate the reservation of lodges and services.

  • Deposit Amount: A standard deposit of 20% of the total tour price is required.
  • Permit Fees: Full payment for Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits is required at the time of deposit, as these are purchased immediately from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).
  • Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed only once the deposit is cleared and a confirmation invoice has been issued.

2. Final Payment

The remaining balance of 80% is to be settled at arrival in Uganda, prior to the start of your safari. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required immediately. Failure to settle the balance may result in the cancellation of your trip.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Because we incur significant costs with third-party providers, the following charges apply:

61+ Days Loss of deposit (excluding permits)
31 – 60 Days 50% of total tour cost
0 – 30 Days 100% of total tour cost

Note: Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are 100% non-refundable as per the policies of the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

4. Itinerary Alterations

We make every effort to stick to the planned itinerary. However, Ranger Lead Travel Africa reserves the right to make changes to accommodations or routes if necessitated by weather, road conditions, or safety concerns. In the event of lodge unavailability, a comparable alternative of the same standard will be provided.

5. Primate Trekking Rules

  • Minimum Age: The minimum age for Gorilla trekking in Uganda is 15 years.
  • Health Status: Visitors with contagious diseases (colds, flu, etc.) may be barred from trekking by rangers to protect the primates. No refunds are given in such cases.
  • Sightings: While success rates are high, sightings of wild animals are not 100% guaranteed.

6. Force Majeure

Ranger Lead Travel Africa cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance of our services is affected by extraordinary events beyond our control, including war, natural disasters, pandemics, or border closures.

7. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda.

Voluntary Execution

By advancing a deposit to Ranger Lead Travel Africa, you certify that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Booking Terms and Conditions.
