Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Journey to the Forest of Giants

• Morning: Depart from Entebbe or Kampala for an 8–9 hour scenic road transfer. Your private 4×4 luxury safari vehicle features a pop-up roof for optimal viewing.
• Stopover: A morning break at the Uganda Equator crossing for photography and a visit to local craft boutiques.
• Afternoon: Enjoy a traditional lunch in Mbarara town before ascending into the Kigezi Highlands, often called the “Switzerland of Africa.”
• Evening: Arrive at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Check in to your luxury lodge and enjoy a gourmet dinner overlooking the canopy.
• Overnight: Buhoma Lodge / Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp / Mahogany Springs.

Day 2: The Ultimate Gorilla Encounter

• Morning: After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will be assigned to a gorilla family and joined by expert trackers and guides.
• The Trek: Enter the dense forest undergrowth. The trek can last between 1 to 7 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Along the way, spot rare birds and other primates.
• The Encounter: Once found, you will spend exactly one hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat—a truly profound experience.
• Afternoon: Return to the headquarters to receive your trekking certificate before heading back to the lodge for a well-earned rest or a community walk.
• Overnight: Buhoma Lodge / Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp / Mahogany Springs.

Day 3: Return to the Sun

• Morning: Enjoy a final breakfast in the forest before beginning your return journey to central Uganda.
• Afternoon: A second stop at the Equator for any last-minute souvenirs and a lunch break in Masaka.
• Evening: Arrival in Kampala or Entebbe. We will drop you at your preferred hotel or provide a direct transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.
