Terms & Conditions: Ranger Lead Travel Africa

Effective Date: January 2024

Please read these terms carefully as they form the basis of your contract with Ranger Lead Travel Africa Limited.

1. Introduction & Agreement

Ranger Lead Travel Africa Limited (“the Company”) organizes safaris across Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and DR Congo. By booking with us, “you” (the traveler) agree to these terms.

Note on Local Conditions: Standards of service, medical facilities, and safety in Africa may differ from those in developed countries. Local laws and regulations of the destination country apply to all arrangements.

2. Bookings & Payments

  • Deposit: A 50% deposit of the total holiday price (including gorilla permits) is required to secure your booking.
  • Confirmation: Payment of the deposit constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  • Final Balance: The remaining balance must be settled in full before the safari begins. We reserve the right to request full payment at least 30 days prior to departure.

3. Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellations must be made in writing. The following charges apply based on the date notice is received:

61 – 100 Days 40% of total cost
46 – 60 Days 50% of total cost
16 – 45 Days 80% of total cost
0 – 15 Days 100% of total cost

Note: Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are generally non-refundable.

4. Safari Specifics

What is Included:

  • Airport transfers and all mentioned park fees.
  • Accommodation and Full Board meals as per itinerary.
  • A 4×4 safari vehicle with a professional English-speaking guide.
  • Gorilla/Chimp permits (where specifically included in the quote).

What is Excluded:

  • International flights and entry visas.
  • Travel insurance (highly recommended).
  • Tips, laundry, telephone calls, and beverages.
  • Personal souvenirs and items of a personal nature.

5. Health & Medical Requirements

Travelers must be in good physical and mental health. Many safaris involve trekking in remote areas.

  • Disclosure: You must notify us in writing of any medical condition or dietary requirement.
  • Responsibility: We assume no liability for medical care or failure to meet requirements if not disclosed in advance.

6. Liability & Insurance

  • Insurance: It is a condition of booking that you seek comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and repatriation.
  • Liability: Our liability is limited to the total cost of the services provided. We are not liable for “Force Majeure” events (war, riots, border closures, extreme weather, etc.).
  • Luggage: Compensation for lost or damaged luggage is capped at US$30 per client.

7. Transportation

  • Every passenger is entitled to a window seat.
  • Vehicles are maintained to roadworthy standards; however, we accept no liability for mechanical breakdowns or delays beyond our control.
  • The Guide’s decision on routes and safety matters is final.

8. Conduct & Photography

  • Conduct: We reserve the right to terminate the tour of any individual whose behavior is disruptive or dangerous. No refund will be issued in such cases.
  • Photography: We may take photos of participants for promotional use. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform your guide at the start of the trip.

9. Complaints & Jurisdiction

Any complaints must be reported immediately to our local representative. If unresolved, a written report must be sent to the Safari Manager in Kampala within 20 days of the tour’s end. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.

Voluntary Execution

By advancing a deposit to Ranger Lead Travel Africa, you certify that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. This agreement is binding for the depositor and their heirs.
